Nomadland - ★ 7/10

Jessica Bruder is an American journalist who writes about subcultures. Frances McDormand fell in love with her book about people who live on the edge of society, spending their daily lives in caravans, without any permanent residence. When she contacted Chloé Zhao to make a film about it, based on the events in the book, Nomadland was the result. Peculiarly interesting, this neo-western dazzled audiences by its simplicity. McDormand plays Fern, a woman in her late fifties who, in addition to having the worst name in human history, decides to live in her trailer. Fern lost her job in Empire, Nevada, shortly after her husband passed away. When she found herself in a ghost town in the middle of nowhere, she decided to take all her money and buy an RV to travel the country.
